You’re so right. I edit for a living and will be damned if I’m providing that service unsolicited and for free. While I was reading your article I got an email from the (male) reader of a publication I edit. It concerned a misplaced decimal point in a context that would never affect a reader. I always wonder if these guys expect a cookie, a pat on the head, or what?
