There is also the idiotic “overweight people live longer” correlation that conveniently overlooks the fact that terminally ill people, addicts, etc. tend to lose weight as their diseases progress, skewing weight/mortality stats. Bad correlation headlines go viral because people desperately want to hear and spread“good news” about their bad choices: We saw this with “Red wine drinkers live longer” fantasy, which threw out the fact that terminally ill people and organ-ravaged sober alcoholics aren’t quaffing Cabernets and Merlots.
