What a refreshing article. I was born shortly before the “official” Boomer cut-off and always related far more to Gen X than Boomers. I was a latch key kid who never saw a single episode of Howdie Doodie and applied for (and miraculously landed) my first crappy minimum wage job in competition with about 80 other applicants.
Generation Jones makes a lot of sense.
Boomer/Gen X etc. originated as marketing designations and that has always been their core function, yet some people act like it’s scientific fact. I appreciate your more nuanced approach.
