This was my 2nd defense of the movie today. The other was on an article complaining that Jovie wasn’t given enough backstory, inner life and depth—with zero acknowledgement that Buddy’s romance with Jovie was only a subplot in the first place.

I guess it’s become terribly fashionable to impugn Elf this season. I wonder what holiday classic will face next year’s clickbait firing squad.
