The exceptions only in cases of rape or incest reveal the attitude that an unwanted pregnancy is a punishment for women having sex. And that pregnancies aren’t for growing a family but are retribution time bombs. It’s egregiously regressive. And while exceptions are microscopically better than no exceptions, it’s far too little. Women must have absolute sovereignty over their own bodies. Anything less is inhumane.
