That is truly a never-get-bored approach to music. I’m always disappointed that a lot of people our age listen to nothing but the most popular rock from 30 to 50 years ago and then gripe that “new music sucks.” How would they even know since they refuse to listen? A lot of newer rock is absolutely stellar.
I tend to fall in love with artists or albums, listen to them obsessively then set them aside for something fresh. I even do this with older stuff I hadn’t already explored (examples: ELP, The Nice) or back catalogs of current artists.
Just out August 3rd and in heavy rotation with me is Ty Segall’s new album, Harmonizer. Check it out.
