Thanks to your book The Obesity Code (along with Gin Stephens’ Delay Don’t Deny) I lost 45 pounds and have easily kept it off for two years. That was despite working from home through much of the pandemic, having a spine issue that prevents high intensity exercise, and being menopausal.
I eat dinner at lunch time, and may have a bite to eat in the early evening if I’m hungry. Other than water, black coffee or plain tea, that’s it. I don’t experience hunger anywhere near as often or as intensely because this lifestyle got my ghrelin under control. My sleep apnea is gone, I no longer suffer from indigestion and insomnia, my early stage rheumatoid arthritis disappeared, and my thyroid prescription was cut in half.
I don’t count calories, carbs, or fat grams. I eat whatever I feel like (although I rarely want low-quality food anymore).
Eating all day is a bad habit that can be overcome. Intermittent fasting is freedom from the “need” to constantly eat. My office is full of snacks but I’m no longer temped to indulge. Goodbye ghrelin, hello size 4 jeans.
THANK YOU DR. FUNG!
