Thanks for calling out the difference between robbery and theft. I’m dumbfounded at the number of Medium writers who hope to portray themselves as experts then display abysmal vocabulary skills. Yesterday I read one where the writer said she’d had a “collegial” conversation instead of “congenial.” Another bragged that her child was a “ferocious” reader instead of “voracious.” I’ve also seen “shotty” (for shoddy), “short-sided” (for short-sighted) and “perpetrated” (for perpetuated) among others.
