Thank you for writing this. I too endured a high risk pregnancy. Mine involving severe fetal defects and didn’t result in a live birth. One of the most painful aspects was dealing with people making happy exclamations at me about the wonders of pregnancy, childbirth and babies when I could barely speak of the multiple and severe prenatal diagnosis we’d received. Every chirpy inquiry like “When is your due date? Is this your first? Is it a boy or a girl? What are you going to name it?” was like a knife through my heart. When you see a pregnant person, never make assumptions.
