Thank you. Breakthrough Covid is real Covid. I’ve had 10 out of 11 primary symptoms. The cough, headaches, fever and exhaustion are the worst. Unlike other respiratory viruses I’ve had, Covid is taking its sweet time to run its course.

Because I was a healthy, normal BMI nonsmoker in my mid 50s, I didn’t qualify for the booster that might have rendered this milder nor for the monoclonal antibody treatment that could have cut it short. Those of us in decent health are left toughing it out on our own.

Edited to add: I don’t at all mean that people who smoke or have preexisting conditions don’t deserve extra medical help. Just that vaccination and relative good health are no guarantee of a mild case once you get infected, and can render you deprioritized and denied medical care that minimizes the illness.
