Preach. I have permanent spinal nerve damage from my insurance company playing these games while bone growth in a foraminal passageway (foraminal stenosis) gradually crushed a nerve root. I was debilitated and in blackout level agony that no pain med could touch—yet they were sending me to physical therapy, which only made it worse. By the time I was allowed to get surgery to free the crushed nerve, the damage was permanent. Thanks to insurance denials and delays, a little bone growth had time to do the same kind of damage as a major car wreck.
My only suggestion is, if you can, try to get assigned a nurse case manager to navigate the medical red tape.
Best of luck to you and your husband.
