One of my young adults struggled with finances. Despite working hard at a decent full time job, she was saddled with a hefty car payment, had no savings cushion and had built up a modest credit card debt.

Enter one Caleb Hammer with his YouTube podcast “Financial Audit.” He goes over the outrageous details of his guests’ bad debts and frivolous spending, then offers solid financial advice (similar to the advice I’d tried to offer, but he’s way more entertaining). She is now tackling her debt, out from under that car payment, has given up the credit card and consolidated that debt, is budgeting, and has set savings goals with an eye toward eventual retirement.

I think sometimes they need to hear it from people closer to their age.
