Never post a death announcement ahead of published obituary. It’s a brutal way for people to find out a loved one has died, and the immediately bereaved can’t call everyone who needs to be told all at once. Further, the bereaved have a lot of painful calls to make and don’t need everyone on your social network suddenly contacting them at that time. It is beyond tacky to post other people’s tragedies for clicks, emojis and comments.
If you’re actually upset and need sympathy, privately reach out to someone who can directly support of you.
