My neighborhood is a safe Halloween destination like yours. It’s a privilege and a joy to see hundreds of children parading down the sidewalks in hilarious or adorable costumes, toddlers who already know how to say “thank you,” and especially the (seemingly) surly teens now too cool to put on a costume or say trick or treat—yet hanging onto their vestigial childhood innocence for one more year. We have 25 pounds of Costco candy at the ready and I know we’ll give away every bit of it. Halloween is such a sweet tradition.
