Maybe he is trying to frighten people into voting for him. IF it’s widely believed that 1.) as a black woman Harris “can’t” get elected no matter how tremendously qualified and 2.) that Trump “can’t” lose because if he does he’ll just assume the presidency anyway via a rat’s nest of arcane legal loopholes, then it follows that anyone who isn’t blindly and loudly MAGA-conformist could have their rights stripped away. The more people of any political stripe buy that narrative, the bigger the cesspit of cowards who will vote for him grows.

If anything delivers this election to Trump, it will be our national “I Got Mine” brand of selfishness, garden-variety cowardice, and that cancerous slavery-era relic, the electoral college.
