I’ve long wondered why our capitalist-worshipping US government insists on burdening businesses (and other employers) with outrageous health insurance costs. It really eats into profits—and profits are what capitalism is all about. Why do our businesses agree to funnel huge portions of what should be their own profits into the already obscenely overpriced and overprofitable health insurance and medical industries?

The ACA was a giant appeasement to the US insurance industry and has been a small bandage over the gaping wound that is our medical insurance system.
