I’ve done IF for 2.5 years and drink black coffee. It never slowed my weight loss (45 lbs.) and hasn’t interfered with my weight maintenance (2+ years). I don’t think a “study” done on 29 healthy young males for a few weeks is informative about coffee, glucose, fasting, or much of anything — especially when they’re loading these guys with sugar on top of nothing but coffee.
The real problem is how desperate everyone is to believe that if they just ever so slightly tweak some tiny thing like “only have coffee AFTER breakfast” it will act as some magic key to unlock health, energy and weight loss. People keep selling us this BS, and we keep eating it up. It’s stupid. It’s lazy. You’re not going to improve your health or lose weight changing the timing of your coffee. Dream on.
