I’ve been an editor for decades yet still drop articles like a sieve. Autocorrupt on my phone is also an ongoing nightmare. One thing that helps is using a computer read-aloud app which catches those messes my brain misses.
It’s hard for me to ignore others’ errors but I just remind myself that they aren’t paying me to edit like my employer does. Wordy sentences and word choice errors bother me a lot more than simple typos. Typos are a quaint reminder that I’m reading the words of a human and not some AI bot.
I always enjoy your articles, Chris.
