It’s not that we’re considered ugly, but that we’re socially expected to enhance our attractiveness (to men) at all times. It’s fine for men to look their age, sport pot bellies, have pasty skin, dull hair, wrinkles, thin lips, and invisible eyelashes. Women are denied that privilege. We’re expected to eternally present as 23 and fertile.
