It must be really painful and uncomfortable for you to experience all of this second-hand embarrassment and shame! You seem to struggle mightily with not being able to control the personal choices of your family members or even accept their bodily autonomy. You also seem to be laboring under the delusion that a tattoo is an intense series of painful shots like the lidocaine injection you describe. If you got a tattoo, you would learn that if feels much more like moderate scratching over and over: not exactly pleasant, a little irritating but hardly the agony you’re fantasizing. The ink injections are quite shallow. As for wrinkles, they’re rarely pretty whether the skin is tattooed or not.

I strongly recommend you stick to your guns and avoid tattoos. But maybe try to let go of the idea that anyone else’s tattoo requires your negative opinions or judgements. Live and let live.

Saltier than a cocktail peanut and here to get ignored by a much wider audience.
