It is gutless, spineless, and cowardly. I know a young professional who was recently demoted from company rep to 3rd shift warehouse (constructive dismissal) without explanation—via HR. Her manager had never criticized, corrected or offered any particular guidance. He had signed a positive performance review just 12 weeks earlier. Naturally, he was “too busy” to attend the HR meeting or return her calls requesting an explanation. The “Surprise, you’re dogshit” HR meeting where she was summarily stripped of her position, pay and dignity was billed as a “title change.” This wasn’t at some rinky dink operation but a billion dollar corp that is the largest economic engine in our county.
And can I just say it’s hilarious that the reply bots find discussions of criminally weak managers “inspiring!”
