I’m glad you’re working on this. I’ve recently learned from @Scott-Ryan Abt that we Friends of Medium are targeted by scammy “writers” who follow us in hopes of a more lucrative follow back. Those accounts inflate our follower numbers but never read our stories, thereby tanking our “read” ratios and dooming our stories to obscurity. They’re not hard to spot: they follow 10k-30k writers yet have 1k-2-k followers. I’ve started blocking those accounts but I wish there was a more straightforward way to do it, like select and bulk delete/block.

It’s also been demoralizing to get served AI nonsense and see that it has thousands of claps and dozens of one-size fits-all comments that are obviously part of an automated Medium fraud network. It’s so disappointing that is who is benefiting most from our Friend of Medium memberships.
