I was greatly relieved when my own children graduated out of the school shooting lottery known as the US educational system, and further relieved when my teacher spouse retired. But I still worry about other people’s kids and the stress we put on students and educators by doing zilch to address the problem.

What I find disturbing is parents enabling the murderous tendencies of their rotten crotch dumplings, then defending them to the hilt after the inevitable happens. I mean, what do they think the outcome will be when they teach their kid that they’re the center of the fucking universe, then arm the little shit to the teeth? The 15-year-old asshole in Michigan yesterday and Kyle Rittenhouse are both examples of teenage brats whose parents saw fit to arm with deadly weapons—for no other reason than the “joy” of slaughtering others. I suspect those parents are getting some sick, vicarious thrill out of it.

When are we going to start holding parents who arm their children accountable for these murderous rampages? Rottenhouse’s mom drove her armed wartlng to another state where a BLM protest would give him a “self defense” figleaf to literally get away with murder. In Michigan, there were rumors that this fucknugget was planning to shoot up the school weeks before his parents bought him the weaponry to carry out his bloody fantasy.

And now his parents are refusing to allow the police to question their precious monster. They’ve taken a page from the book of Bryan Laundrie’s parents: “My child can do no wrong because I shat him out of my magical crotch. Therefore, I don’t care whose life he took, I’ll go to the ends of the Earth to protect him from any consequences.”

My own kids are young adults. I love them more than life itself. But if they murdered anyone I’d fork them over to the authorities in a heartbeat. And they know it.
