I support you 100% in letting this useless adult either stand on her own two feet or find someone else to use. My relative moved across the country to our midwestern town, ostensibly because she couldn’t afford living on the coast (plausible!). But even here, with our comparatively low cost of living, she was very “needy” and constantly in the midst of some financial, career, relationship, or health “crisis.” I finally realized she’d simply run out of people to grift where she used to live and so had moved closer to my side of the family, probably expecting her “helpless” routine would get us to carry her around on a litter. She is very manipulative. Fortunately, we’re a suspicious bunch and haven’t fallen for her machinations. I won’t be remotely surprised if she moves on to greener pastures soon. Be strong! Reserve your helpfulness for those who actually deserve it.
