I retired two years ago, at age 58. The Margaritaville tropes don’t resonate with me, either. While I love that my time and energy are now reserved for my own priorities, I don’t aspire to live like I’m on vacation. That would bore me to death. I also don’t get abandoning my home and family for the sake of a warmer climate or cheaper cost of living. I’d rather put on a sweater, put a stew in the crockpot, and be near the people I love.
