I hate those articles claiming that if we stop saying “I think” and “I’m sorry” and “does that make sense?” we’ll suddenly be fairly paid, valued and respected. When a man in the workplace speaks plainly he’s “assertive.” A woman who does the same is “aggressive.” We are punished for bringing up salary, yet men continue gaslighting women by claiming we don’t get raises because we simply don’t ask for them.
