I do agree with you that civilians shouldn’t enter active crime scenes and should comply with police orders in a crisis situation—when the police are actually doing their job. I hope the precedent set in Uvalde is that those cowardly cops are so fiercely shamed, blamed, ostracized, and excoriated that next time this happens (and it will, sadly) the cops are going to be more afraid of what will happen to them if they don’t go in than they are of confronting a teen with an AR-15.
