Excellent write-up! I binged this over the holiday weekend too. I loved everything about it (with the small exception of the opening “retrospective” sequence which was, IMO, unnecessary).

It was magical to watch and listen to the birth of so many iconic songs. “I’ve Got a Feeling” is a longtime favorite of mine. I was delighted to get so much of it. And I never knew Get Back began as a mockery of anti-immigration policies.

My favorite part may have been when little Heather Eastman sees Yoko vocalizing at the mic and get this “WTH?” look on her face—then almost immediately tries it for herself.

I really felt for George though when his gorgeous songs were summarily dismissed. I’m so glad he recorded them himself later.
