I’ve attempted NaNoWriMo every year since 2007 and “won” (reached at least 50k words) almost all of them. The social aspect never did much for me but I loved the pressure of the daily deadlines. I’m very disappointed that Nano jumped the shark. When something you love deteriorates until it’s indefensible and unfixable, all you can do is walk away. RIP Nano. We had a good run.
