As a novelist who’s edited professionally since the late 1980s, I have to say your whole article nails it. The poor “writing advice” really irks me. Everyone on this platform is starting to sound exactly alike.

Every other article starts with a long-winded description of how the pandemic lockdown was, (I mean, really? They think we missed it?), transitions with fast forward to today (because what even is past perfect tense? Or just now), continues a long, blathering preamble to the promised mind-blowing revelation or listicle, and concludes with summing up or putting it all together.

Homogeneous isn’t synonymous with good.

Saltier than a cocktail peanut and here to get ignored by a much wider audience.
