Although I enjoyed this series, I’m glad to see someone else making the connection with SATC. Joanne’s entire character is Carrie Bradshaw warmed over. Once I saw it (ep. 1) I couldn’t unsee it. I liked her the least: she’s dishonest and immature, and is a bull in a China shop—just like Carrie Bradshaw. I agree the glib and raunchy dialogue mirrors SATC.


They leaned too hard into negative stereotypes of Jewish mothers—but the actress who played Bina was delightfully wicked.

I liked the secondary characters far better than the main characters. Noah’s brother and sister-in-law were a hoot. And Joanne’s sister and mother were funny and memorable. The ex, Rebecca, was gorgeous and kind, far more so than Joanne. That Noah preferred Joanne says a lot about his character, none of it good.
